UFL Outline Week 6

Updated: May 16, 2024

Week 6 of the UFL season witnessed another chapter in the thrilling race for the playoffs. With a dominant victory, one team secured their postseason fate, while others continued their fight for a coveted spot. Here's a breakdown of the action:

Game Recap

Stallions (39) vs Showboats (21)

The Birmingham Stallions wasted no time stamping their ticket to the playoffs, securing a convincing win over the Memphis Showboats. Quarterback Adrian Martinez, back under center for the second consecutive week, orchestrated a potent offensive attack. The Stallions' dominant running game, led by C.J. Marable's 150-yard performance, kept the Showboats' defense on its heels. This win not only extends the Stallions' winning streak to 13 games dating back to last season, but also makes them the first team in the UFL's young history to clinch a playoff berth in Week 6.

Roughnecks (8) vs Battlehawks (22)

The St. Louis Battlehawks continued their impressive run with a dominant defensive performance against the Houston Roughnecks. The Battlehawks' defense stifled the Roughnecks' offense all game long, forcing turnovers and limiting them to a mere eight points. Quarterback AJ McCarron played efficiently, managing the game and finding his receivers for key touchdowns. This win keeps the Battlehawks atop the XFL Conference standings and sets up a potential championship preview matchup against the Stallions in Week 7, with both teams boasting undefeated records.

Renegades (27) vs Panthers (28)

In a thrilling game that came down to the wire, the Michigan Panthers pulled off a dramatic upset victory over the Arlington Renegades. The Panthers' offense struggled early, but they rallied in the second half, led by a strong performance from quarterback E.J. Perry. With seconds remaining on the clock, a clutch field goal by kicker Jake Bates sealed the win for the Panthers, sending the home crowd into a frenzy. This win keeps the Panthers' playoff hopes alive, while the Renegades suffer a heartbreaking loss.

Brahmas (12) vs Defenders (18)

In a low-scoring defensive battle, the D.C. Defenders edged out the San Antonio Brahmas. Both offenses struggled to find rhythm throughout the game, with turnovers and penalties stalling drives. Despite a valiant effort from their defense, the Brahmas' offense couldn't overcome the Defenders' stingy defense and their lone touchdown proved to be the difference. This win keeps the Defenders in the playoff hunt, while the Brahmas suffer a setback in their pursuit of a postseason spot.
