Week 3 of the UFL season delivered another exciting chapter, with dominant performances, shocking upsets, and a reshuffling of the standings. Here's a breakdown of the action:
Game Recap
Defenders (29) vs Renegades (28)
The D.C. Defenders exorcised their Week 1 demons with a convincing win over their divisional rivals, the Arlington Renegades. After a slow start to the season, the Defenders' offense came alive, led by a strong showing from rookie quarterback Kyle Sloter. The Renegades, last year's XFL champions, remain winless and searching for answers.
Showboats (14) vs Stallions (33)
The Birmingham Stallions continued their undefeated run with a dominant performance against the Memphis Showboats in their home opener. The Stallions' defense was particularly impressive, shutting down the Showboats' high-powered offense. Running back C.J. Marable continued his hot streak, surpassing 100 yards rushing for the third consecutive game.
Roughnecks (20) vs Panthers (34)
The Michigan Panthers bounced back from their Week 2 loss with a convincing win over the Houston Roughnecks. Quarterback E.J. Perry was nearly flawless, throwing for three touchdowns and leading the Panthers on a scoring spree in the second half. The Roughnecks continue to struggle offensively, despite a valiant effort from rookie wide receiver Trey Sermon.
BattleHawks (31) vs Brahmas (24)
In a thrilling back-and-forth contest, the St. Louis Battlehawks edged out the San Antonio Brahmas to move into a first-place tie atop the XFL Conference. The Battlehawks' defense played lights out, limiting the explosive Brahmas offense. Veteran quarterback AJ McCarron continued his strong play, finding his receivers for key touchdowns throughout the game.
