Deep Dive into PAC 12 TV Rights

Updated: Sep 14, 2023

We all know USC and UCLA are leaving for the Big Ten in the fall of 2024. A long with PAC 12 media deal ends in 2023, which means they do not have many programs that are worth showing on tv.

PAC 12 Network is shutting down in 2024 so they can focus on their TV partner if they can find one. So who is willing to make an agreement with a conference that is falling apart? So far no one is interested publicly. Right now it is just the waiting game because there are rumors they want to expand Also, the Big 12 has been looking at a few schools in the PAC 12 which hurts more.

ESPN is cutting down financing and not looking to renew their partnership. FOX Sports has not even been mentioned. That leaves CBS and NBC but they said no. What will the PAC 12 do if no TV companies want to broadcast their sports?

The answer is streaming. Apple TV+, Amazon, and even The CW have been in talks with the PAC 12 for the past couple of months but now that has died down.

I predict the media company is waiting for them to expand to more schools. Media Day is coming up and every day as we get closer it becomes more embarrassing.

New Details from the PAC 12 they are expected to release details in the "near future," a source told ESPN. They also said nothing will be announced at Pac-12 football media day on Friday.

As the PAC 12 loses its school to the other power conferences they are not looking to expand, which makes it harder for a network to make a deal with them. Amazon and Apple TV have made a deal to stream Football and Basketball making the PAC 12 2024 deal 100% streaming. By the looks of the deal, Amazon will be Friday night games. ESPN might make a side deal to keep PAC After Dark.

This is a developing story, we will provide an update when we learn more.
